San Diego, CA – The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians have officially endorsed Councilmember Ed Musgrove in his bid for State Senate, recognizing his commitment to partnership and support for every member of our community.

The Rincon Band of Luiseño Indians, also known as the Payomkawichum, is located around Valley Center, CA. For thousands of years, they inhabited the mountains and coastal river regions of Northern San Diego County, living off the land and creating a rich culture. Now proud owners of Harrah’s Resort Southern California, they are fundamental in supporting our San Diego region, keeping the traditions and history of our great state alive while partnering with our local leaders to support economic and community development efforts.

As a direct descendent of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe outside Tucson, AZ, Councilmember Musgrove understands the needs of our local native sovereign nations. As State Senator, he will continue to cultivate tribal and community partnerships, positively impacting the wider San Diego region.

“Ed is representative of good governance with a strong background in public safety. He remains focused on serving the communities he represents. The Rincon Tribe proudly support and endorse Ed in his race for State Senate,” said Bo Mazzetti, Chairman of The Rincon Tribe of Luiseño Indians.

Musgrove, a native San Diegan and current San Marcos City Councilmember with Pascua Yaqui Tribal heritage, has a deep understanding of tribal issues in our region. Having worked closely with local tribes in his career as a Sheriff’s Captain, he has been directly involved in crafting solutions and solidifying positive working relationships between native nations and law enforcement.

“I am deeply honored to have received the endorsement of The Rincon Tribe. I am grateful for their trust and support and look forward to working vigilantly on their behalf,” said Musgrove. “Our local tribes are the historical and economic backbone of our great state. As Senator, I will ensure we continue to create positive partnerships while addressing tribal issues at the state level.”

Musgrove’s campaign emphasizes the importance of good governance, public safety, and local control. He remains committed to bringing common-sense solutions and leadership to Sacramento, ensuring that every individual and family in our community has the opportunity to thrive

Proud Army Veteran, Retired Sheriff’s Captain, and City Councilmember, Ed Musgrove resides in San Marcos with his wife and two daughters.
